Here is a lion thing i have been working on in Softimage XSI using nurbs and displacement maps. I was looking at the Buffy monster book.

might want to try to define the eyes a little more...anyway, nice work

Nice details in the textures. maybe could make the skin less reflective, and some finer bumps for hair.
