Hi again folks, here is a concept drawing I cooked up on what I think Anakin might look in Episode 3. It's Anakin towards the very end, overlooking the imperial forces.

*update* I've painted over my drawing in photoshop, and I'm pretty satisfied with the results! (for once) It's the first time I've ever 'painted' anything in photoshop, and I still don't know exactly what I'm doing. If anyone has any pointers on how to paint over a drawing let me know!

Anakin concept

I think obviously by the time he's bald he would be needing his helmet, but I just want to draw a recognizable Hayden C. bald heh. Took some cues from the Vader costume but it was all out of my head except for the face of course, and the belt (I wanted to have one item exactly as Vader's costume in the old ones). Drapery and costumes aren't my strong suit, so I apologize in advance! I especially have a hard time without reference.

Looks good, you've got his likeness down.
An early version of Vader's uniform, it will be interesting to see just how he gets that way in Episode 3.
I really like the colour pieces aswell especially the Zam Wesell pic.

i like it. i can see some elements of darth vader in it, but in my mind. i picture anikin starting to have at least a partial mask by the end of ep3. having him being more machine, but thats just me and i do like your drawing none the less.

also. that darth sidious one rules! i love those colours. excelent work.

Tyron: The sketch is in pencil, most of the other stuff on the star wars page is colored pencil.

Frost: Yeah, sorry about that. Can't afford a paysite so this will have to do for now. Apologize for the trouble! (for anyone else that visits, just minimize the ads, closing them only causes more to pop up)

guy: Thanks, very valid points. He definitely should have face pieces at this point, or even a full helmet. But since I like to draw faces so much, that would've have been alot fun ;D

I like the costume and especially the face and expression you have. I'm just curious though as to why you didn't make him look like Hayden Christensen? I noticed that you have the ability to capture a likeness very well, so I assume you chose to make Anakin look different.

I am floored. Lucas, to me, didn't seem to give much thought to casting in terms of physical character progression, but you've done an incredible job capturing his likeness (despite some opinions to the contrary) and I'd absolutely say you've found the missing link between Ani as a teen and Ani as a burned out cyborg Vader in Ep 6.

Blackpool: I'm not sure how I feel about this, because you are not alone in this opinion. I DID try to incorporate Hayden's likeness, but I do hear the "incredible face, but you should make it more like Hayden's" type of comments. Since you've posted on this thread, I've refined/added to the face, but I'm not really sure if it'll change your opinion all that much ehehe. Anyway thanks for the compliments!

Magic: Yeah I don't know heehe, I guess in the books(?) they explained what happened to Anakin? But I've always been a "movies-only" kind of person, so this painting is only my speculation.

Gigatron: I'm not too sure what you mean by modelling it. I guess it has something to do with 3D which I know squat about.

Little Bee: I'm really pleased you like it, and I'm surpised to find someone around here who thinks it looks like Hayden Your comments are very very flattering, thank you.

I figured I'd do an episode 3 Obi-Wan concept too, and here's the WIP sketch I did today for it. I'll still refine it, then scan it and paint it in photoshop again like the Anakin. Ultimately I will have them standing side by side. My favorite part is the belt grabbing action that the late great Sir Alec used to do all the time as Kenobi. Yup, make it 3d (with something like 3dsmax, maya If you don't mind? I want to do it when i get some free time (i'm on a couple of projects right now actually, and do that sort of thing, but when find some free time for those I would SO WANT TO do that Do you mind?
