Following the recent Lukias and A sketchathon posts which I really enjoyed, I thought I'd make an effort in scanning some shit, mostly doodles and stuff, c&c welcome.
also a whole sketchbook of quicky character sketches/concepts based along the lines of MadMax/ Escape from new york future street gang style theme uploaded here, the dl is pretty big tho.

Lovely... Good to see some loose pencil, as I get jealous of tight pencil. Now I only get jealous of how good you are.
I love the way you use your pencil in the first picture. Excellent.
The thin lines in the second ones is just perfection.
- Whappetiflapp! they say...
All the pictures are great, but those two things are the things that stuck in my mind. |

Great sketches. You give a lot of personality to your characters. I like that!
Cheers

great stuff, i like the first one the most, it's cool beacause you can see the people there are in the middle of some adventures, this pic is telling a story. Anyway I've got a question: what kind of pencil(s) you use? |

Awesome bro, as per.
I think your combo of harsh, rigid lines with the smokey, kinda fluffy shading that you work into some of the pieces is primo.
Sweet ass details too.

Love the loose gesture marks in these sketches--great work Cos. Really like the extreme angle on the second from the bottom too! |

Thanks for the comments ppl
Basse - Yeah I do often try to get a contrast in my sketching style, thin line sketching, plain shapes of shadow and light, heavier rendered stuff, keeps it more interesting I think..
ODD - Pencils I use, If I plan to work into the piece I'll usually use a 2b or higher, if I'm just line sketching than a H or Hb.
Lukiaz - Me mights scan more at some time, tho scanning loads of shit is too friggin long and boring, probably be awhile. |

Cos,
this stuff kicks butt! Wicked.
I like the gritty, rapid style. It really shows your talent.
I was going to point out the ones I really liked out of the group, but as I went back to review them I realised that the more I saw, the better I liked them... so not much point in choosing favourites, eh?
Also, do I detect a bit of a Simon Bisley influence?
Great stuff. When you get around to scanning more, post them too!

A - Cheers guy, glad you liked 'em. Yeah definetely some Biz influence in my stuff, tho I don't really see it any more, other still do so I guess it's still there. I'll stick another bunch up at some time. (we should probably get some kinda sijun sketchathon thread going at some stage, be cool.) |
