well, i think you mirror some parts of the face, like the eyes. So it looks ugly.

I tip I see on this forum all the time is "vary your colours". That's what I thought when I looked at it. For instance, now her face is mostly green going to white or black. Have you tried going over parts with a very transparent brush, and another colour? Red in the cheeks, bluer shadows, yellower in the light places? Just a touch or two might "spice" it up. Just a thought.

@NeFF you caught me there. i havent started on one eye, so i didnt want to post it with one eye so i just mirrored it for the time being. you sure notice them little things dude

@Torstein Nordstrand cool ill try that. ive only started experimenting with lighting, so thanks for the tip. will do my best.

are there any anatomy problems that i need to fix before i proceed with painting?

Yes, the added hue variations are defintely improving the 'life' of the person. the colours are not realistic, but I don't know if thats what you were going for. Eye's are extremely important for a face. You should definitely work hard on getting them right, so I would suggest simply forcing yourself to rework them. If you are having trouble doing it, then break it down into some smaller stages. Just lay down some simple points or lines to get the structure happening. Just refine it from there. It is important to work progressively, so don't get stuck into any specific area without first making even the messiest lines look right.

I feel your pain, drawing is a bitch when you get into a rut. It really drains your enthusiam.

I would suggest you take a break for a few days, or at least draw something you are familiar with and know you can do easily. Use that as your warm-up and you should be set to go. Try not to be too critical and get stuck on one particular issue, just move on quickly.

@Ian Jones thanks, as you have noticed, the colours are not really supposed to be realistic, i tried a weird colour scheme, but it didnt really work out as i wanted, but i still like it. ill have to sit down on the eyes and work on them properly. thanks for the tip, i might just leave it for the day and go play a bit of music. thanks

@scylla thanks, i normally have problems with the hair
