This is our daughter. We painted her in Photoshop and Painter. Bang used all Photoshop, and I used mostly photoshop and some Painter.

Basically, Bang did a rough sketch, I took it and made corrections and added detail. Then, we talked about what colors to use, and he blocked in some basic washes of colors and passed it back to me. I then changed some colors, and started painting it. Then we just passed it back and forth until we both thought it was done.

We are strict dads. She is not allowed to date--ever. If any of you goons lay a hand on her, we'll make good use of our baseball bats.

ugh - " not allowed to date, ever " ?
You reek of incest my good man. Disgusting.

She needs sharp + dark shadows/shades methinks.

I agree with klaivu on the dark shadows. Eyeballs look quite flat also. Otherwise looking good!

great pic, and great and butiful girl. The only thing i dont like is that there are no highlights on her eyes, maybe she is on drugs !

I see you put your daughter in a private school. She seems to be...developing nicely.

Very well done guys. It would be nice to see a little twinkle in her eye though.

I would say use a condom next time, but I kinda would like to see more of your love children.

I'd hit 'dat, y0. Err.. I mean... stunning young lady you have there, blokes! Would it be acceptable if I were to invite her for a ride on my 'balogna pony'? And by that I mean, an actual pony made of processed meat.

*snicker*

Edit: I hate typos. They are the bane of my existence.

For Pixar's sake let's add the highlight to the eye

Btw. It's true that she won't date anyone, because she's gonna marry ME!!!

nice I like it very much. She's very cute, and nice combination of exaggeration and realism. I agree with the light in the eye though. Doesn't nescessary need to be that bright, but a some reflection/light atleast.

JamesBradford- what are you, a computer engineer for a giant corporation?

klaivu-- ewwww....

I thought about some sharper shadows, but then I thought that the light being diffused and bounced around in the room might soften everything up. Hmm, Bang, what do you think?

SolarC- thanks.

Fredrik- Stop undressing her with your eyes, you dirty, dirty....um...artist.

oDD- she IS? Why, that little... "Hey! YOu on drugs?!"

Gimbal8- that's Bang. He's got a thing for sweaters over a shirt. And regarding her development, I'm afraid I'm guilty of feeding her too much healthy food.

Twinkle might happen. I need to make sure Bang agrees too before we do anything.

Hmm, more children? Bang honey, you want more kids?

pixelsoldier- hehe. I won't club you. That was pretty funny.

Bg- and she SHINES! woo!

Heh. Bang and I will only agree to the marriage if you produced at least ONE painting of a cute chick.

Flat- dude, if she wore that to school, she'd get expelled.

Joachim- Thanks man. We'll see about her eyes.

I find this experiement very interesting, as Bang and I have similar taste and our styles have some similarities yet enough differences. In this piece, you can see very clearly that it has the idosyncrasies of both of our styles--almost a perfect 50/50 blend.

It was fun to paint this way--passing it back and forth. There was no tug-of-war at all, and it's so cool to see what he added in his newest session. Bang did some wonderful things that I wouldn't have thought of. If he tries to weasel his way out of it, don't believe him. He surprised me a few times during the painting and I have new found respect for him after giving birth to this cutie.

I like the quiet shadows, you two already bring the head out some, and the softness makes her seem so young and untouched... though I think it might be a tad too dodged/yellow on top? Other than that, it's synergy made pure. It is easy to tell who took part.

Do I see the beginning of a future trend? It seems you have earned the right to challenge another pair to perform likewise

Luna, bang, congrats.

*hands out cigars*

She looks good, maybe some more expression would be nice, although an expresionless face can say a lot too.

Poor girl...no dating - ever? Is this like when the parents already decide who the girl will marry?

Well, can we perhaps see how you both erm... uh... made her? I mean WIP version the picture of course (not what you may think...) . You definitely must have some since you send them to each other. I really would like to see how it proceeded.

I alsothink it would be really cool to see the different iterations of the pic as it changed hands, and how your two approaches differ.

Here ya go:

Some minor steps are missing, especially in the beginning when it was just line drawings.

This is after I detailed the drawing and bang just added the washes of colors.

This is after I started painting it in detail.

This is what Bang passed back to me. I like this version of the face the most. I fucked it up after this.

This is what I passed back to him.

And his last session. (this version is after I made the head higher)

And my last session/finished piece.

Cool, thanx. That was really interesting. Im now curious about other teams here and maybe also bigger teams.
Hmm... we could select some people here which are good in different things and let them do a piece together. Everyone does his job on it where he is best in. Man that would be really interesting. I wonder if one could still recognize the different styles.

Im gonna have now a closer look at the single steps. ;-)
