Hi, i need help with the ground here. How to make it look like a forest floor without drawing every single leaf and twig? I've been working on this too long. Thanks
Theo

Hey man, i thin kthe picture is great so far. To make the forest floor seem more realistic, try adding some elevation, things comming up from it. Right now it looks pretty flat, and a few obects like a log or broken branch to make it more realistic and have more depth. Great job so far though =) |

Nice rendering. I love the woods in the back. As a whole it could use som more contrast, as it looks somewhat pale and dirty now.
You got a perspective\ logic problem. Either, those are absolutely fucking huge trees far, far away, or there is a little uphill slope between the character and the woods. Now slopes are nice. I've got nothing against them. But fog doesn't settle on them, and the fog seems to do just that in your picture. Either make the fog look as it's more pouring out of the woods, or let it settle around the characters feet, or move the forest slightly down. At least that's what I think.
The pose, and his outlook is great though. |

A small suggestion - you could try to make it look as though his back foot(and his left foot, to a lesser degree) is planted a bit into the dirt. I think it would help make him look like he is a part of the piece. Along with some roots and random twiggy leafy things, you'd be on your way.
I really like this piece, btw. I hope to see it later on with everyone's suggestions incorporated. |

Basse_Ex, derm, thanks for your thoughts. I appreciate it. I'll post the finished image later. |
