Here are some pieces that were done for the Shadowfist card game.
These were fun to do and a change of pace from the stuff I am doing for the Devil Whiskey game.

nice, love the colours, but the perspectives seem wierd and wrong(unless they're meant to be that way)
and on the first pic, that pole seems out of place, it just doesnt really fit in, i dunno why, maybe its that piece of orangeadvertisement |

UMmmm, NO! The perspective seems fine by me! In fact, I agree with the use of color... just amazing. I have seen some of your other works, and you never cease to amaze me with your creativity. I just can't get over how one comes up with such amazing character's out of ones head.
I can't wait for the cards to come out... Are they going to be available for purchase anywhere imparticular?
I definetely want to pick up a set!! Keep up the goodwork & PLEASE DO post some more amazing works here. I look forward to seeing them all!
By the way.... The 70's guy is one tough cooool looking cat! |

Hey, I really like these, you captured the "gangster" thing so well here. Did you start on a basic 3D render or can you shape things so nicely ?
Really good work, the only crit I have is that some of the people look a little dead, or rather not alive.....especially the middle guy in the second and the guy in the 3rd pic. Maybe you should work on their expressions a bit ! |

The other 2 look kinda strange when it comes to the perspective... |

Great work! great sense of design and lighting. You like the dramatic contrast of those strong shadows... its very effective for the mood of these three pics.
I also have a porblem with the perspective. The mere fact that it stood out to ppl is a bit of an indication that somthing is wrong. I don't think its much of a problem but it just looks kinda forced. It's mainly just the last pic, the strong convercence is a bit distracting. Anyway, just an opinion... I don't think any changes are necessary.
The gangsta pic is really good. I like the way the fat one is holding his pose but makse me wonder if he is a little concerned about the shotgun pointing in his general direction. I can also see a tiny exit sign in the background, its probably the smallest text possibly readable! crazy!
Hope that helps. |

EXCELLENT STUFF! OMG!
Yeah, i think there's a problem with the perspective on the 3rd pic. The bg perspective is FINE, but the perspective of the pimp doesnt seem to match the bg perspective (it's like his dead on front view). |

Godwin: The last pic I was trying to go for an oldschool batman tv show sort of perspective.
lilsis: Thanks K!
I believe the cards are being sold in most hobby shops and comic book stores.
horstenpeter: No 3D programs were used. These were all drawn on paper with pencil, scanned, then painted in PS.
saladbowl: Not sure what to do about the perspective now. These have been submitted and are off to the printer.
Ian Jones: Thanks I was trying to be a bit dramatic with the perspective on the JT pic. I really like your insight as to what is going on in the gangster pic.
Dr. Bang: Thanks! You may have hit the nail on the head with the perspective issue.
Thanks for the comments, observations and crits and stuff |
