hmmm... i agree with pro-phet. the painting style looks intentionally rough and primitive. i know people around here like to crit anatomy, but it's sort of pointless on a more abstract/expressive piece like this.

pro-phet is right, though. it's kind of a weird gift for your mom on christmas. the overall mood is a little threatening. however, i really like the odd proportions on the piece. you won't see many paintings this tall and skinny.

just curious, what was the inspiration behind the painting?

well, the boobs are off... and what's up with the very skinny calves and ankles?

Also her torso is too long, and the arms are kinda skinny too.

arg somehow interesting and abstract. the anatomy is incorrect, veryincorrect. but i think you didn't try to get this right. think you just wanted some expression, well think you got this, but i wouldn't give my mom such thing for christmas. it's somehow "i want to kill you" like

perhaps a green background would be better
just an idea

Who cares the length of the torso or anything??? I love that piece.

Maybe your mother deserves something more... optimistic, dont you think?
