)"/"(/$("/!&&"## damn,
I just came from an Episode II Attack of the Clones preview and frell! it's amazing. George Lucas has won my fan heart and redeemed himself for his atrocious Phantom Menace.
In short: My heart is unable to express my feelings for that movie. Everything is so well done, the story is so many times better than in Episode I. Yoda is the coolest character ever and Christopher Lee and Jango Fett are too cool to be true.
Have to see this movie again to believe my eyes. |

Do you guys actually think this movie will have a bigger opening than Spider-Man?
I honestly don't. I think it may rake in a big net total than Spider-Man when everything is all said and done, but I don't think it'll pass 114 million on opening weekend.
I hope it doesn't. It's about time Lucas DIDN'T succeed.. on even that small level. I'm sure it will drive him nuts if he doesn't "beat" Spider-Man. |

I don't think it's possible for Episode II to have a larger opening than Spiderman did, since it's playing in 25-30% fewer screens.

well i just got back from the cinema. It's 3 am i got to go to work today morning but i fell it was worth it. EP II is much better than EP I. I think Lucas is heading in a good direction. EP III will rule
the scene at the end where there is a view of the clone army and you can here the imperial theme music was great. Fighting yoda was pretty cool. And everyone laughed when yoda was standing in a kungfu pose =]
I liked the movie. |

I saw it last night at midnight as well.
I loved it. At first you feel kinda lost as to where it's all heading but in the end it sorta comes together.
The movie is absolutely packed with different things and there are so many separate action sequences.
The effects are bloody crazy. Your head will explode. It's almost like every frame could be a beautifully rendered artwork that took hours and hours to paint (probably because they are).
Mindblowing.

i just saw it lastnight. yes it was really really good. i mean sure the acting isn't spectacular, nor is the diolauge, but then star wars isn't ment to be like that. it's just escapist film ment to be entertaining and i thought it did that well
i just get annoyed by people who complain about acting and what not. star wars in my mind is just a B movie with a high budget and much better effects.
but anyways yeah. definately got to go see it again. yoda was so damn cool in that movie! ![](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |

the movie was good but not great imho. maybe i'll get flamed for this, but i didn't like the original star wars too much either. i have no clue whatsoever why they got so much attention. we've had fantasy tales like that since we were kids, and to be honest, the special effects in for example Alien rock far more than the ones in star wars. |

i went and saw the movie. it really did suck less than ep1.
however just about everything expect for the cgi did kinda suck, just not as bad as ep1.
the only good acting was from samuel jackson and a muppet, yoda.
the plot, story, acting and most everything else was not that good. although it did have a much better plot than lotr. lotr was just a bunch of midgets running around lost for 3 hours. |

I was raised on the old star wars movies, and these new ones just don't mix well with me...where's all the dirt, grunge, and character?!! These new movies are just sickening in my opinion, as commercial as they come and oozing with subliminal unintentional twenty-first century pop culture. Everything is just in your face, it's like the people that created the film were aware that they were making a star wars movie and over exagerated everything to kick an unrestrained amount of ass and it makes my head explode....I don't know really...maybe it's a personal problem...maybe I should give the new one a chance...

of course! who is going to hate star wars on a board like this full of people wanting to be (or who are currently) artists or storyboarders or concept artists...all we're going to hear is praise praise PRAISE! As if this has any relevance to the point of the thread anyway... |

Holy shit Nilwort, lay off.
Just because George Lucas apparently pissed in your Corn Flakes doesn't mean you should reprimand others for liking the film. We're all entitled to our opinions.
Cool down, it's just a movie. |

Even though I am a fan I admit that George Lucas is far from a good writer and it's evident in Episode I and IV(Thank God somebody else wrote the screenplay for V and VI). But like somebody said, Star Wars is an escapist movie. We go to see them cause we want to see a world so much different from ours and thanks to it's epic proportions it does make up a good entertainment(for some people at least).
Another point, War movies have always been popular but there is just so much that can be done with a WWII or a Vietnam movie that a fantasy movie like this is good variation on this.
The funny thing is that George Lucas claims that "it's all in my head" but that's just bunch of bull, he is just making it as he goes.
But still, leave us pitiful creatures/artists to be Star Wars/LotR fans in peace. We don't want anything else(I think) |

I've never heard anyone with a crit like this about LOTR. What movies plots do you like? Personally, I have a lot of trouble with Lucas recently and his plots.
For example:
WARNING! WARNING! Dangerously nerdish detail levels to follow...
Episode 1 was supposedly set 10 years before Episode 2. When Obi Wan goes and talks to the cloners, they tell him about an order for clones they recieved 10 years ago from a leader of the jedi's named "Cypher Dias" who is now dead. He didn't appear in Episode 1 and the audience has no idea who he was or is. If Lucas wanted to create a mysterious character, who played an important role, I don't see why he had these mysterious events take place at the same as the first film and not cover them AT ALL. If he wants us to have no clue, then why not say that the order was placed 11 years ago or 20 years ago and save the obvious confusion. Does anyone follow me here? Hmmm, (more to the point) does anyone care? |

this is very sad, think about it... George lucas probably has a hundred advisors. he could've had any actor/actress he wanted in this movie. he has all the money and Special effects he needs...and still he falls short in making a masterpiece.
did anyone notice that the guy at the begining with one eye covered was the same guy as the clones? why? what was that all about?
also, that Yoda scene seemed way out of place. kind of like a last minute decision. |

the guy with the patch is definetly not the clone person, the clone actor is a NewZealander and the patch guy is an Auzzie.
yooda's fight sceene was unreal, i didn't know what to expect, it was good to not see much of Ja JA Binks, and as a boba fett fan janga fett ruled, the movie rocked, they should re-do ep1 because its fucks up the series. |
