Thought I'd take a break from all the illustrations and the homework and give photoshop 7 a whirl with an abstract wallpaper. All photography is original.
800x600
1600x1200
Its highly personalized, but if you wanna use it for your background (weirdo), go for it. C/C on the Aesthetics/design would be nice.

AAIIIIEEEE! MY EYES!
Er, I mean, how nice.
This reminds me of the backgrounds a friend of mine makes... His style is very similar to this... Brightly-colored weird smeary energy small-text visual-explosion stuff...
Like this one. |

Hehe, yeah, the whole thing is pretty cliche. But I really like the look, and I wanted one for myself. You'll also notice I threw in a few things just_for_me.
Anyways, you're right, your friend's work is very similar, only he's alot better .

I like it. Yeah sure its cliche atm, but heck it still shows thought and design skills. I like the way it is 'up a key' in brightness. you dont have many darks, and usually that doesn't work very well, but in this case it works.
lots of filtering going on in there!
You managed to get that 'acetate' sort of texture, I like that. |

haha, you better believe its alot of filters. But for that background, I DID start out with a picture I took of my mom's crystal vace. I'm kinda proud I took the little photo so far.
"Acetate"? Isn't that an element?

I like it! Very snazzy simple look. I think a lot of abstract artists get a bad rap -- it's very easy to create these images, but they're sure as hell fun to look at. Some folks can and do make careers out of it.
You know Arik Renee Avila's stuff? |
