Well, at least that's what I think it might be. I have been having a hard time lately trying to get myself to finish these paintings I am working on. So I tried this excise where I just created a new canvas and just painted spontaniously what came to mind with out any preconseption and most importantly for me, without hesitation. Well I was kind of pleased with the result and I just thought I would share it.

Your rock is superior.
I do enjoy this piece, even though it's just a speed painting exercise. I like the texture of the ground and the rock itself.
Only thing that's bugging me is the shadow under the rock on the right side. The left side looks colored, and the right side just seems like a kind-of-flat black smear.
Nice work, anyway. Interested to see the other stuff you're working on now. |
