It would seem almost natural for Ep 3 to end with a door sliding open revealing Darth Vader in all his glory...with his breathing..as we remember him. The suit is a survival suit..he dosent evolve into it....he needs it from the get go. I would assume he is in one moment Anakin, and in the next he has the whole suit.

It's a nice picture, but unfortunately doesn't hold much relevance.

Anakin gradually drifts further to the Dark side, but it was merely emotional and mental.

The drastic physical change happened when Anakin fought the epic battle against Obi-Won, for the first time. Anakin fell back into a vat of some super hot liquid (if my memory serves me..), which horribly scarred his body..

The Sith Lord had intensive surgery done on Anakin in order to preserve his body (as well as convince Anakin over to his trust..and the Dark Side).

Anyway..Nice idea anyway, but research a little more on the Star Wars history, so you can produce more accurate pictures

Well, I had some time and sketched out another interpretation. This one is a little closer to the classic design.

Akira_x - could be, but that's so boring. It's more interesting to me to imagine what the steps to that look might be like. But that's just me I guess.

Josh - LOL, thanks for the thought. I imagine most fans know about that storyline, but as nobody has seen Episode 3 yet I think it's OK to play around with the concept.

Joachim - Hey! Funny photo. What's up with the size of his head? Anyway, I'm art directing at Angel Studios now. That'll probably go on for a while, and then who knows? How's the company doing??

Anyway, here's my take 2 - I imagine there will be more, it's a fun topic.

great pics, aside from the technique being well done the progression between the 2 designs moods is great. he still seems cocky and self sure in the 1st , by the 2nd hes obviously learned some hard lessons as he's needed more spare parts.

Great stuff Francis, I really love the idea of him progressing into Darth Vader. I think Lucas should hire you but maybe he just browses this board and steals your ideas ;D
And don�t promise us to stop but to do more!

These sketches are really nice Francis. The third sketch is my favourite, but maybe the left foot looks a bit larger than the right, even though it's further away?

I think the idea of Anakin becoming Darth is really cool. The more evil he becomes, the more he changes into Darth Vader. Actually, if the other storyline is true, that'll be really disappointing, as we've already had that storyline from Joker in Batman.

Neat Francis that is a great progression , I figure 3/4 in the 3rd movie he is gonna have the duel with Obi-wan and im not sure if he takes on the full suit right away or not after falling into the lava or being burnt up , but I like the idea of a progression .
