This is a link to a two character painting that was supposed to take an hour in Painter and ended up taking eight hours. I was trying to build up texture in Painter instead of using textures in Photoshop. The annoying thing is I think I like the quicky photoshop textures better in my older works. But Painter does better modeling. C&c please. http://www.epilogue.net/cgi/database/art/view.pl?id=12902

I like, very moody and atmospheric.
I like the colour scheme and the sense of scale between the woman and the chaos marine.
The only crit I can make is that the cathedral looks unfinished, I know it isn't the focal point but I think it would make the overall piece more complete.

Thanks Axl, good point. My boredom with backgrounds is giving me away!

Not bad. There are some questions about the perspective (characters seem at a very different set of axis to the background), and overall it's perhaps a little blurry, but it's got some nice qualities. Reminds me a bit of Justin Sweets work;
