I can't remember playing a crappier game than this abomination. It's inconceivable that in the year 2002, such a crappy FPS is possible. What were they thinking? Even Red Faction was better than this. RL at least had pretty cool multiplayer.

edit: I meant Red Faction, but I typed Red Alert.

Amen to that man.

I couldnt stand it...

only thing I liked about the game was that you get a sense of a battle going on around you...

It's not all bad! Driving the tanks is pretty fun...and uhm...well the...did i mention the tanks already?

Actually the tanks aren't really that fun now that i think of it. The game seemed fun yesterday though...

Somehow Westwood seemed to be chuffed over their latest creation, but no, it offer's nothing new at all. Most of the weapons don't feel like they do anything (except maybe the silenced pistol which seems to do okay for head-shots).

The multiplayer is alright for a couple of hours, then everyone swaps to Codename Eagle AGAIN. Good God, we so need a cool FPS with some decent vehicles and a merciful learning curve!

2 of my friends think its SO awesome, I have to admit its not a bad game, but I never installed it on my pc, it just isnt something that one HAS to play. Driving around is ok, but the driving physique isnt giving me too much fun though.

Westwood was good until the the first C&C game. Most bought the following games for the name me thinks. I really liked the first C&C, it was new and cool, but every game after it seemed to suck.
They tried the same with Lands of Lore, but that didnt work out good at all. Only the first part was good, the others sucked pretty much.
Kyrandia got saved from that destiny, because Adventures were "not marketable" before they could run it through the Marketing Machine.

Lands of Lore, Dune, Eye of the Beholder, Kyrandia - that is if you call the last 10 years "lately"

I thought Bladerunner absolutely ROCKED! The graphics and non-linear plot-lines were very advanced. Probably more than anything in else in an adventure game even produced today. It's only flaw was you never realised how clever it was until long after you sold it again and discovered that other people had played the game with an entirely different storyline.

Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge RULES!!! I think it's Westwood's best games to date.

Red Alert was Their Best Game.

All their other games sucked. Nox sucked hardcore(except for running around in only underwear, sneakers, and a cape).

The original C&C was neat...but it sucked still. Yes, it was the first, so I give it props for that...but RA is better because they fixed what sucked in C&C.

Poopie-demons?

Nox rocked, for a while, the thing with that game was that it was too short, now if they had balanced it some nore and made it bigger....

And bladerunner rocked, and still does...!!

[Shizo]: Ditto. Dune2 rocked. Mind you, it's scary to think that back then you had to click and move each unit one by one. Still, Dune2 is the grandaddy of RTSs.

generals looks pretty good, but it'll be forgotton if they can't actually make the gameplay fun...all of the RTS games by westwood I've played follow the same boring pattern....click here...make this harvester thing get resource-things over here....wait for it to go the the refinery-thing....click rapidly on the unit making button thing...wait....wait some more....select the unit-things that just came out of the factory-thing....send them into the enemy base....watch them get destroyed.....repeat. FUN! Red Alert was amusing because it was the first RTS I played...once the novelty wore off, it sucked.

Something about the graphics in those Generals screenshots is a little disturbing. The people running around in the streets are way too tall for the buildings and vehicles they're running past. Everything else looks pretty damn sweet.

I'll be happy when Westwood make a game with a solution to the notorious tank rush. I still think the original Total Annihilation was one of the best RTS games to date. Big Bertha's rock!
