This week's painting is a fantasy of mine: long-distance hitch hiking. Actually I've never hitch hiked, seems dangerous, but it would be cool to catch a ride on a Boeing 747. Anyways here is the picture:

There are two progress steps prior to the final which are here and here.

haha, that's really cool.

I think the windows size relationship between the cockpit and passenger's holes isn't quite correct. but perspective view like that is really hard. could try find some photo for help.

The definition of horizon line is kinda wobbly at the moment, has that hazy atmosphere feel that I like, but maybe could make the line just slightly more defined?

The reflection, lighting and shadow are quite sweet, this is POTW #3 isn't it, good job. keepitup.

Well I'm not sure what POTW stands for, but I think you did a great job on making the reflection on the belly of the plain, he's progbably right about the windows though

Yes ithis is my Picture of the week. It's a weekly project i have to keep me going and do stuff every week. Last week i made my website so, no picture...but this would be the 3rd.

I fixed the windows and worked a little on the outline of the elements in the distance. I'm so pissed at having saved over the original 4000+ pixels wide image with an 800pixel wide psd. oh well

Thanks for your comments.

my one comment is that the nose looks a bit off. It seems like the nose of the plane is bent towards our left

Hey I like it, specially the red logo on the plane, that looks like a plane crashing to the ground, with smoke coming from its tail, but mayby it is my perverted fantasy. Only crit is, that the boy looks a bit pasted in, mostly around the head. If you wanted it like that, it's ok, it could be, that the boy is standing in front of a giant poster dreaming of the hitch hike...

Ok, one more update then...

Minks - You're just saying that because you're at the other side of the pacific ocean...just wait tho, i'll manage to get one of them air planes to give me a lift someday...Quantas goes to australia right?

Dryfire - it's probably one of those things EVERYONE dreams of but doesn't reveal hehe maybe not.

ReD-RealM - Thanks!

Dan - Oh thanks a lot, didn't even notice how far off it was until you pointed it out.

The Fritz - I made the logo clearer, your twisted fantasy and mine dude .
"the boy looks pasted in" can be translated into " the boy's lighting is not consistant with the rest of the picture" Like when some movies sometimes use a bluescreen and it looks totally fake, it's because of inconsistant lighting. And you're right about that. I tried fixing it up.

great pick el kapitan...but i think the reflection of the boy is a bit toooooo large on that plane. that reflection looks like the plane is really close to the boy...and if it was really that close then that plane aint a 747....but maybe a dinky 7.47...lol

great concept man...i would love to hicthc a ride to australia myself...

he's a giant!...doh back to the drawing board

hehe i feel like a cheater for doing that...well now he's on a ladder in front of his parked yellow car and if you've got razor-sharp eyesight you'll even see a yellow flag on the ground

Real neat image, nice idea. . looks great..
but the first thing that struck me.. and I might be wrong.
the reflection of the boy makes it look like he is standing closer to the airplane than whats realistic. let me explain.
based on the reflection it looks like he is standing in a ca45 degrees position relative to the central plane axis (front-back) .. wich in turn means he is standing aprox 5 meters in front and 5 meters aside of the plane.. witch in turn means he is about 4 meter high ? , , or?
well thats my rambling ..
keep it up.
---
hmm.. maybee I should have read it all before I start to try to be smart.. .molaka already pointed this out. . and you fixed it. . hmm .. . back to to the closet for me..

Nice job Novacaptain, I've always wanted to hitchhike around the world too, I was actually planning to after I graduate... dunno if I still will because it's kindof hard to get the 747s to stop once they get going.
