looks pretty good.. i think the hair doesn't fit the rest of the image- the darkness, the sharpness and the detail in the brushstrokes make it stand out too much and distract the viewer's attention from the face itself. as to the face, i think it can use some more contrast- some more shadows in the hidden areas (under the chin, corners of the eyes/mouth etc.) also- some more color variation would be nice- right now the skin is too pale and uniform in color- i think it was the mighty fred flickstone (but i might be wrong) that suggested a general coloring scheme for faces- the chin area being cool and bluish, turning into warmer reds around the cheeks and nose, and then into a yellowish hue at the forehead.
a darker background will make the head pop out more- at the moment some of it blends into the background too much because of the similar hues and values. |

yes. very good advices! I think the most difficult part in making a picture is that it's difficult, to find right colors, so that it could look real!
but here is some changes I did:

Whoa, a little large there.
I would suggest that you not use the burn tool for doing shadows. Pick your own shadow colours and use that instead. I still think you need to darken your dark values more. I'd try and go more to the bluish side for your background as well. I'd do a paintover, but I'm at work. |

well...there are things that even proofs don't seem to know. One thing is that, I DO NOT USE burn/sponge....NEVER EVER!!!
just used very very light pink/yellow instead..hmmm.
well, good advices, but...they weren't...
