Hey everybody...

Here is a sci-fi pic, just messing around off and on for a bit:

The actual robot is cool, but its background is pretty blurry. The image would be awesome if you paid as much detail to things outside the robot as you paid to the actual robot's details.

That oil sketch reminds me of the pictures you see in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. It's a similar style with the book I have. (I've got to break the habit of being more interested in the pictures than the text)

Great robot too!

On the robot, I'd suggest: either using more haphazard brushstrokes and dramatic colors (thus making it clear that perspective errors are part of the style), or fixing up the perspective to make it look more realistic. As is, the pic looks a little awkward. The oil painting is cool, almost reminds me of Van Gogh.

Nice robot sketch, really interesting what you have going on.
One suggestion though is to maybe put more reflected light onto the robot, especially where it's arm is right above a lamp.

Thanks for the comments!

Enhancing the lighting would be a good idea, but as for the bg being blury, that was sort of intentional I was trying to give the impression of the robot being in a super cooled room or something... maybe i should have indicated that by adding more mist, etc.
