This is an image I made entirely in Photoshop using only the paint brush and no filters at all. Tell me what you guys think.
The article on the right is about Enayla and Jezebel's community, Ebony Keep.

nice one!
looks very clean tho... in my opinion some of those shapes are too geometric & flat - like the red tablet container (it looks very rectangular, maybe you could round the 2 shorter sides just a little to make it look more like a cylinder - except you intended this style).
what is this round thing? a shot glass? whose face is this in there?? i sure dig this refraction of light...! |

I actually lied. I hardly used the paintbrush tool, and filter-fested like a rabid dog snorting crack.
But if I said that originally none of you would have check out my art.
The photo used in the glass is of me. All the text is about me. The suicide is mine. Its all about my surrealism. |

I think the blood needs work. It's not the rich red you associate with blood and there needs to be more splatter. You know, small droplets of blood that appear to have fallen on the paper rather than worm like lines.
The blood on the razor blade looks black and 'too neat'. None of it is on the paper around the razor. Other than those niggling little things, this is a great image. |

Nice work Cheney. Although EK isn't my community. *giggles*
The pills look really good... a rather sad piece though. |

Hmm.. a cockroach, some pills, some razors, and a glass, on bloody newspaper. It looks nice, sure, but the topic is pretty misleading. How is this picture surreal other than the articles that's on the newspaper? Come to think of it, newspaper printing irrevelant things IS pretty realistic too.
But I really like how this picture looks, especially all the work you must have put into it. I especially like the reflection made by the glass. One thing I didn't like is the shadow cast by the cockroach. It just strikes me as abrupt that the pills cast larger shadows than the roach does. |

Well...I wasn't going to reply to this except to say that I liked the rendering, especially on the pill-bottle and the paper--but because I liked this image, I DID spend quite a while looking at it, and I DID read the "article" on Ebony Keep.
Since I am the close-minded administrator who started the "sweeping campaign" of censorship, I feel I must say these few words:
First of all, I wish you wouldn't take what happened as a personal rejection. I would have wanted to close the first thread even if a fellow moderator had posted it--even if Enayla had posted it herself. However, I didn't close it as soon as I saw it--I talked to the other mods first, and we all thought that while YOUR post was very sanely and politely worded, it could easily get out of hand--even the one reply it got already had a somewhat explicit reference to a scene from a porno movie--and prove disturbing to some forum members. Since your second post seemed to be a complaint about the first, that was also closed--sorry about that. That was my mistake. I didn't realize it had any other intention...I thought it was pretty much a veiled jab. I don't know what happened with the kitten thread...I did not see that one.
I'm going to go out of a limb here, because you are obviously still upset. My intention was never to upset you, so I will give you something of an explanation, even though I don't particularly want to. Here it is: I admit that I closed the porn thread partly for personal reasons. I can't explain why in public, but the whole topic was utterly repellent--no, horrifying--to me. It called up hideous associations. My judgment might well have been something less than impartial.
That said...I still like this picture, but can you PLEASE let this drop? As the person who closed the first two of your threads, I can promise you that none of it was intended as a personal slight, nor as a sweeping campaign against anything. It was just a combination of my personal *cough* reservations and a general feeling that your thread could easily get out of hand. There you have it. |

Socar, I think you misunderstood my intention or my disregard to your community. I sent you an email to clarify my thoughts.
I am sorry for the confusion. I have no hard feelings against you, but merely others. |
