It is a picture of two birds. I spent more time drawing this picture than pretty much any other in the recent past. I have a lot of trouble with colours like these--bright colours. They...hurt my brain. After a while of looking at them, I can't distinguish between them any more, and I have to give my eyes a rest. You should've seen my first attempt--I ended up with two red birds! (Oops). I had to start from scratch several times.

Monument to incompetence overcome:

Wow! Beautiful! I love the details and the colours. The only thing that disturbs me, is how the green parrot's wing fades to the background ... I know it's meant as motion blur, but as the detail gets lost in the small sizes it looks a bit weird ... but overall I love it. Like most of your pics

Very nice indeed. I really like the colours, and I like the range from very detailed to less detailed, more painted style. Good stuff.

it reminds me of... of... i seem to forget..

you know, like drawings on silk/cloth or something?

very cool stuff - looks great, i can see why you get a headache working with these though.

one thing you COULD try doing is work in greyscale and then , well eventually just have a nother layer for color.nah.. scratch that

Very nice as always Socar. Love your stuff.

A sidenote-question if I may..?
I heard you were doing/have done some stuff for the upcoming Children of the Sun RPG by Misguided games..?

Please tell me this is true!

V.

roundeye - Yep, it was another pet commission. I've got a lot more to do, too--this one got me way behind because of the colours.

Veritas - Yes, I did 40 grayscale illos for CotS. 34 of them will be in the upcoming book...the rest will appear in various expansions, because they ran out of space and couldn't fit 'em all in. I'm doing 7 more pictures for the Southlands expansion, coming out in...eh...I don't know, in fact. Maybe August or September.

Vesuvius - 3 boards...and Sijun wasn't last. Eatpoo was last, because I'm a moron and almost forgot.
