i was all ready to rip it apart before it loaded based on the 'filters and layers' comment below it, but you actually did a great job getting a nice painterly style of rust it has good variations in color and texture with a hand-painted feeling to it. i wouldnt consider it 'photo-real' if thats what you were aiming for, but i certainly think it works quite well otherwise. any secret combination of filters/color adjustments/dirtmaps/etc? |

Very intersting. I was myself trying to get this kind of textures for a piece I'm currently working on. Could you explain how you get that? |

Thank guys.
Well, My process of working with filters and layers is very chaotic, There is not a sequence to follow. but I can tell you the filters and ajusts I used on it:
Filters:
-Clouds and Noise, use noise/emboss in a softlight layer.
-Glass and spatter for the borders cracking.
Ajusts:
-Curves and levels
-Hue and saturation(colorize)
Layers:
Many, many, try using differents combinations and changing modes and the order of them. and also used a lot of layer mask and blending options.
