I totally agree with theo.
Force yourself to draw what you see, NOT what you think you should draw. Just because your mind tells you that his lips need to be bigger, or his nose needs to be smaller doesn't mean it's actually true. It's hard to do, but you should try and practice that.
I good exercise is blind gesture drawing. Find a picture (or a live model if possible) and just continue looking at them while you draw. DON'T look at your hand. Just look ahead at the subject and let your hand do the work. You'll likely get a really squiggly mess, but the more you practice the better it'll become.
It is great for helping train you to draw what is ACTUALLY there and not what you think should be there.
I know your English isn't very good, so I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say.
Regardless, this one is still better than your last. Just keep at it! |

A lot better than the Coalmine picture... really... but still...
Listen to Messybrain. Blind Gesture drawing works very well.
Try some self-portraits also, where you look as much as possible in the mirror, and as little as possible on the drawing. Drawing yourself is a good exercise since, well, for one you're always there, and it's probably the face you're most familiar with, so there's a lot of expectations and thought-patterns to be broken.
And when you do these type of sketches, do them fast, to get the feeling of it. It's better to do many lousy ones, than to make a single good one, since these are exercises and are not meant to be "good".
But, it looks like you're improving quickly, and hopefully the imporevements will just continue.
Keep it up. |
