Well here it is.
First, for me, finished Freehand Photoshop only drawing.
I had some feedback from the Work In Progress thread. But now I feel that I can consider it finished.. If you dont think it is finished, well I dont know if I can manage to continue with this one,, it took forever to do.
I darkened alot of it..

Get rid of the explosions and it is a really cool picture!
Good work in my opinion... .
I wish I could get along with coloring in Photoshop... .
Well I still can't get it to work right... :/
Anyway, nice picture! |

Really interesting looking, I definitely like the moon and background.
My only gripe is that maybe he's a little too lit up overall. I mean it's night-time right? Only real lighting should be from the explosions and moon. |

Reminds me of those Warhammer 40,000 concepts. I have the feeling that he's kinda pasted on to the background...give more shadow and a bit of highlight. other than that... very good. |

Yea the same crits as in the Wip thread ;-)
to light .. and then I already darkened it a bit.. hehe.. well .. thats the part I have to work on in my future work.. to get the setting ready from scratch .. .this time I jsut wanted to be able to make a picture at all i color.. so I started doing the figure.. and when I wes fairly happy with it.. thinking thisone can go all the way I tlhought that it had to have a background . . so I jsut "threw" some in. Well thats not the way to do it I believe. But hey.. its my first digital painting,, apart from 4 "speed paintings" I did last week when I discovered this forum.. . so be nice .. hehe..
Thanx anyway, And it is inspired by Warhammer 40k .. but I had no reference pics,, well kinda ,, not a reference pic.. but I saw a pic a week ago or something and tried at first to reproduce the style of the image, but since I dont remember the pic It went on my own ideas pretty soon.
My greatest weakness is lack of patience.. and thats what you need a lot to be a good artist.
BTW twincruiser.. I really like your War3 pictures you have on youre site. nice work.

I think you should just make the explosions darker, more orange so they dominate less, but then, sometimes the bg will dominate. Not everything can be picture perfect, pretty damned good work though dude. Keep it up. Looks War Hammerish. |
