i'm new and this is my second attempt to draw something with my computer. it's a neo-necromancer

I think this piece would be more powerful if you took out the scribbly half tones (is that what they are called i am not sure) and made this purely black and white.

actually I like the tones created by the crosshatching, it kinda gives it a newspaper illustration feel, or if you've seen Frank Cho's work, similar to that. I just don't see how the picture gives away the clue that he's a necromancer. Maybe if you had some bones or something like a ghost in the background. I didn't like the pic at first, but with the texture it really breathes life into the piece.

moleculeman, i'm not sure what you mean with "half tones". maybe you can specify it.
faeklone, i don't know frank cho's work. has he got a homepage or something like that ?
my neo-necromancer doesn't look much like a neo-necromancer to you ? ok, you're right. he's not really a neo-necromancer

. i just wanted to do a cold- and dark-looking, futuristic guy. and as i was needing a name for the image i thought "neo-necromancer" would sound quite cool
