Did a quick motion painting off of a famous scene from Scarface.
The flying shells were my own touch, but I'm not sure whether shells really fly out of this type of gun, so..anyone know? |

I've seen the exact fram used on a banner.. if you haven't painted over the photo I must say it's a damn fine job.
It looks identical, I have a looooong way to go before I get near that standard. Bravo ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

I can only think of two kinds of guns that no casings fly out of... A muzzleloader and a Caseless rife. So to answer your question, Yes the M-16 or Ar-15 does eject casings.
You have them coming out the wrong side of the weapon though. Almost all guns eject to the right. |

I think the gun needs a little more detail. Also, his left hand holding the forward barrel grip seems too low. The AR-15(M16) doesnt have such a bulky barrel grip. (edit: Unless it has an underslung M203 grenade launcher )
Other than that, it captures the scene nicely.
And Anarchist is right, the AR-15(M16) ejects shells out of the right hand side, away from the user. Nothing would throw you off aim more than a hot shell in your face.

Well, anyone who has seen the Scarface movie knows that this gun has a grenade launcher attached to its barrel ![](images/smiles/icon_cool.gif) |

what's with all the australian replies in this post? and why isn't anyone from adelaide?!
the shell casings kind of look like they're coming out the front... as if he tried to shoot and they just sort of rolled out of the barrel .
looks sweet though.

Yeah, I'd say repaint over where you've got the shells now, and put them popping out above and near the Scarface text. Nice painting though! I like the looseness of the strokes. |

"Say hello to my little friend!"
Famous line/famous scene.
Great painting, although Al Pacino's face is a little thinner I think.
