ok my two cents, I'm gonna be a little harsh. Lets start at the top.
1. The perspective on the helmet seems to be a bit off. Seems like the little ridge thing on the top leans to the left a bit, and the flange at the bottom left seems to be a bit big.
2. this one is just personal opinion. I would almost like to see the face disappear a bit into the helmet. but thats just personal opinion.
3. the right shoulder pad needs a bit more detail. the left one doesn't seem any closer than the right. so it seems like both shoulders should have about the same amount of detail.
4. composition is not my strong point, so I won't say to much about the colors. I do think that if the background was darker it would make the figure jump out a bit though.
awsome painting, and great work on your site. keep it up.

thanks, all good points. I'm not quite done with this I guess. I'll do some of those things you mentioned. What I'm really concerned with is whether or not light comming across the body is working and if it's enough to make the image interesting.
Thanks for you thoughts, though.

i'm just wondering why it looks like there's light being emitted by what looks like a non-glowy material if you make it glow, it should look like it's glowing. the only way i think the face would look less hokey is if there was close to the same shade blue somewhere else in the pic [it looks kind of out of place right now], and it wasn't glowing, maybe instead it's a mask or something.. that kind of thing belongs in a very dark, dreary fantasy illustration i think.
the rest of the image looks great.. visualsiege has some good points though, listen to him ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

I'd say give him a little bit more of a neck. Also, the skull looks a bit like it's way too small for that helmet. The helmet is like floating above where the skull would end. Just personal observation though. The armor and texture all looks awesome though! |
