hello! My new ugly homesite is up now! Please take a look if you feel like it. http://www.embryo69.net/ftp/guest/index.htm Don't look at it too long though, it might damage your eyes...

I'll post my two latest pictures:

This is a try at painting industrial interiors, I used spooges final fantasy picture as reference for the pipes. I freestyled a bit on the cylinders, I don't really know if it's correct but I think the reflections look all right...

i love how people are like "eh, here's a couple paintings i did" and they're like the best thing i've seen.

the clouds dont 'make sense as they're lifting up in the first one, but that's the only thing i can say for the both of them besides holy shit that's fucking dope as hell wish i could paint that detailed and finished.

not enough hardcore nudity, otherwise VERY good though. the pipes in the bottom left of picture 2 (I think the FF inspired ones) look out of place and their perspective is... confusing to make out. what's the deal with the clouds above the radar dish in scene 1?

Thanx dudes and dudettes...I've heard some comments about the clouds in pic 01...
The idea is, that this HUGE parabola, is transmitting some strange force, pushing the clouds above the parabola upwards, power power power!

I like the ground texturing on the first one. Its almost hard to tell it from a photo. In the second one its the light reflections off the drums that I like most. Those tiny, but sharp reflections had a whole new level of realism even though you can tell this is painted.

Hello everybody and thanx for compliments and helpful crits,

Yes I made a simple model in maya from cubes and cylinders, took a snap shot of the wireframe and painted everything, I didn't want to paint on a lit shader schene because it makes me comfused, so I just want some perspective lines...

Wow man those are awsome paintings!! I dont know every artist the world over but you have to be one of the most talented digital painters out there that I have seen anyways!!
As far as your website is concerned I think it is great. I like the simplicity of it..that kind of thing seems to work for artists as long as it is not ugly..like Justin Sweets homepage for example is simple yet well done and to the point .

Capt. come back to posting at Sijun I can't comment on your work at the SNOOTY FORUM

Very impressive stuff! I like both pics a lot! I can understand how the 1st pic is done, but the industrial pic is real mindblower 'cause of the details. I'm always wondered how to keep things that clean like the stairs and pipe stuff. I always get so frustrated 'cause I have to fix the edges all the time if I'm trying to do something like "that". Yes, I've heard that many artists like to use lasso tool for selections. But still I haven't find it too useful. Ok... I'll stop whining now...

GREAT atmospherics on the first pic. The weird clouds just make it all the more interesting.
In the industrial pic, I reckon some mirror-like reflections on the cylinders would be cool. (nitpicking, nitpicking)
I'm gonna check out your site now.

these are frickin amazing, they're beautiful
i think you give spooge a run for his money hehehehehhe
so, what's the story with the clouds? it's obvious that they're supposed to be doing this... looks cool.
btw, do you work in ze entertainment industry? these look like they're quite good enough to be matte paintings in movies, like Craig's... ya know?
good work dude. did you do a drawing of it first, do a paintover, or a 3d block thing like they did in Final Fantasy? or some other way?
again, great work.

Hi!

Excellent stuff!!!

I don't thinkl the cloud in the first picture work the way you intended them. I thought it was jet exhaust actually. If so the thickness of the stripes indicate that the bend is in front of the dish. At the same time it appears to be placed far behind the dish, in the horizon.

If the cloud layer was opposite to the ground, perspective wise, I think it would be easeir to understand.

But that's just nitpicking, hehe

Thanks for making me feel old. I just turned 30 in February and I'm like 20 years behind your skills!

Anyway, I've been looking forward to your website for a while. It's been a long time since I've seen any of your work. Welcome back to the forums!
