Hello, hello...
I've been playing Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction all weekend, and after completing it I felt like painting something evil, so here's a 1 hour quickie of Baal... excuse the horrible background, but I came to the conclusion that I can't paint fire, so that's just a miffed up cloud effect.
Forgot to mention that the pic was quite a learning experience as well as I painted the entire thing with a hard brush at 100% opacity which is kind of new to me...
Anyhoo:

seems like such a waste of detail. all in that horn, that is. the rest is all very vague. and then there's that hyper detailed horn. distracts.
you didn't say what program you used. looks like psp. did you use the paintbrush or the airbrush? (for the most part... i'm sure you use multiple tools within a picture... at least it's not a bad idea. you should if you don't.) what i'm getting at, is that the eye area looks very much like the psp brushes, or the ps paintbrush. i've found the for the type of picture you're doing, an airbrush (with medium hardness) is usually best. just a thought.
good job. now finish it. :P harden up the edges of the head, and try to smudge, blur, or smooth out those places where the brush step are really obvious. |

hi =)
umm, it was all done in photoshop with the airbrush at 100% opacity in normal mode... I'm trying to learn to 'paint' more...
the horn isn't actually that detailed... just smaller brushes used, but you're right, it doesn't fit in...
thanks for the crit |
