Well, he's carrying one of the two sticks neede for the stretcher. He should be about 2010 more or less...
I would really appreciate some critics about my markers technique. I am just starting with them, and don't know if I am on the right track.

It wasn't loading at first, but here he is...
Nice drawing. My comments about the markertechnique would be:
-try to work quickly and roughly. That's what they are for. All these tiny details you fill in don't do the piece any justice. It could be so much more nice to look at if the marker really shines through. I mean: strokes, places where you've coloured outside the lines... The fineliner should do his job of making details visible.
-when markering, the most important colour you have is the white of the paper. You can leave whole areas white, a point that brings me to the next one:
-contrast: exaggerate your contrast. Blacks for the outline, and thicker where there's less light hitting the object, and the darkest grays for shadows. Realism is not the target, readability is, when markering.
-The trick of the thicker outline: makes your object pop off the paper.
-The trick of the aquarel-pencils. I always use the black, or the colour I need, from my set of aquarel-pencils, and trace a few times over the line where I want to give just that hint of colour or shade. Then go over it with a marker, and drag the pigment how you want. Your felt-tips do get a bit dirty, this way.
Have fun experimenting! |

Are you talking 2010 tri's? Is this a concept for a game model? |

Thank you guys for your crits & comments!
JOME: Thank you very very much!!! That's the kind of advices/crits I was looking for! I'll try for my next pic the techniques you post. Mmmmm...I'll try that one with acquarel pencils with a cheap marker!
FluffydUCK: Thanks, I am glad you liked it!
Manik Monkei: No, it's not for that game. I meant he was supossed to be from that era. In fact it is a concept for a game, but not for the one you are telling... |
