Hey ppl,
just thought I'd finally (after 4 or 5 years?) drag out some of my favourite pics and scan them for your electronic viewing pleasure.

I remember lovingly rendering this in pencil while working for a games company in London in 1997/98. It's still one of my faves - not because it's particularly good, but because I really felt like it captured the instant I wanted: the muzzle blast and empty shotgun shells, the burn mark and bullet hole on the guy's front just before the blood rushes out, etc.

Anyway, I hope you like it.

Cheers, A.

Looks good, but I think I would have
added the bullet being shot... like the Matrix.

Thanks guys!

tek9z: Yeah, I put a lot of thought into the poses, comething that (for some reason I don't really know) I don't do very often. I must make more effort in future to try for more dynamic caharacters....

Neo-MatrixX: The Matrix, what an awesome film. Still cracks me up how just before storming the bad dudes' HQ Keanu goes "I need guns....LOTS of guns!" and then bizillions of them appear in giant racks. That's my idea of an a;ternate reality! Of course, I drew this PRE-Matrix, so I couln't really use it for inspiration - but good point, as a freeze-frame of the action sequence I could have put in what's impossible to catch on film - the flying bullets, etc. After all, that's why illustration is more powerful than photography, right?

Maybe we could start a "Matrix thread" some time?

A.
