Well, it certainly has been awhile since I posted. I haven't done anything that was worthwhile is all. I just tightened up the blue line in last few days. C&C are welcome. Ed--

Outstanding as usual Ed. Hehe, thought of Robocop 2 when I saw this actually. Just one thing, on the left hand, the two most important fingers, the middle and the index seem to be binded together. (?) Pfft... I dunno what I'm talking about...

There seems to be some discrepancy in which direction the character is facing. His pelvis and upper body (other than the tinker toy peices on the front of his shoulders) are facing one direction, but his legs and especially feet appear to be turned more towards the viewer. Moving the right leg out more and not having the feet parallel might help that. The right foot also looks shorter height-wise than the left.

I love the head, chest, and hands. Though, the differences between the left and right hands seem more a mistake than on purpose; the right hand's first two fingers are not attached, while the left hand's front two fingers are. Of course, the use for which each hand is designed is not apparent in this character only drawing, so the weapons or defensive tools it might use could possibly shed some light on that if this difference was not an oversight. The ball joint on the right arm's elbow also appears slightly smaller than the left arm, more so than perspective should accont for.

I like it!
How do you do it? Will you be writing a tutorial on creating mech robots anytime soon?

Ya, nice crit. The only thing that I may agree with is the ball/elbow joint thing. As I was doing this drawing, my mind kept changing "now, do I want to make everything symmetrical or off-it little bit". I decided that the two arms/hands shouldn't be exactly the same, tho the two legs should or it would walk funny. The two fingers of the left hand is tied together for experimental purposes. And the body is slightly turning right or it would look lifeless if everything was aligned straight forward, that's been my experience.

Sure, I would like to see it colored. Ed--

Very nice really like it. Youve managed to achieve a really utilitarian look with this one, all the mechnical parts seem to be for something, this suit isnt made to look pretty but for survivial cool. I have a little niggle though about the feet and lower legs. The proportions are very unusual for the size of the torso and arm span. Maybe if you made the legs a bit longer and thicker and possibly give the soles of the feet a wider surface area it may ease the feeling that it would punch a hole through the floor everytime it took a step- - but who am I to say anything its not a real suit so it can be anything u like

It's awsome. I like the way you draw everything a piece at a time it really makes the drawing 3D !! Ohh man that must take a long time to do it that way though

Thanks for letting me color it! I'm not the best but I'll give it a shot. This really is my kind of artwork considering I am a Mechanical Engineering student.

For the detail and precision in the work you do, it's surprising you finished another this early. Another nice-looking mech! I love the unique design of his gloves.

Thanks to all those who have replied, giving sense of global artist community. :P Yep, that's supposed to be a gun mounted on top decoying as a "head". The ammo belt is fed through but the way it launches out of the muzzle one would think the rounds actually rotate to project straight out. I thought maybe I should attach it from the side but coming out straight from the back of the head seemed cooler. Oh well...What helped me with the "real world" shapes is working with a 3d modeling program. I wanted to draw shapes that I can actually build and animate. It's a dual purpose technique...drawing helps me visualize the shapes in a modeling program and modeling program helps me with drawings. I know, I know it seem little self-serving but, heh..it helps me to "see"... Ed--

My skills proved inadquate to the task of coloring your beautful artwork. I butchered the picture when I tried to color it. Fourtuatly a friend of mine is coloring it in illustrator as we speak. His version looks truly bad ass.

Totaly dig this peice! Like the blue lineart sharp! Very cool design. Maybe you can comeup with/post some specs?

Btw. I see this one colored in a pale white/brown, like the color the Battle Droids are in Star Wars Episode 1. I think that would look cool. Also a dark-grey/dark-purple would look nice.
