Here's my latest attempt. I'd really appreciate any critiques, paintovers or tips I could get on this. I especially could use help with the lighting and the metal/machine type stuff (I really didn't know how to make it look very realistic or technical). Thanks.

Ew, thought I could do better than this. But I hope it helps.. a little?
One tip I can give is to not cross the horizon line with a cylindrical form. That means that either end of the form has ellipses going in opposite directions, like the top of the machine on the right. Pick either above or below the horizon, things will be easier to resolve. This works in life drawing too.
Also, drop the contrast on the BG bricks to get them to stay back there. Play up the contrast and hard edges in mechanical or reflective objects.

In the back of my mind I was thinking, "hmm, spooge made her look a little masculine". Then I realized that the title had something to do with Vincent somebody. The original's heavy lashes and full, pouty lips (along with the hair, though most women would be ashamed to have it lack so much body) really deliver an effeminate feeling to me. There's also very little emotion on the face. I'm not sure if I should be afraid or curious of what he's doing (though large cannisters of green fluid are generally held to be menacing). ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

spooge demon: Thanks so much for the paint over and tips. Sounds like some very good advice with the horizon line.
dogfood: Sure...well all of the girls I've asked say it makes him look better, to which I agree. But, I guess you're entitled to your own opinion. What he's supposed to be doing is whipping out one of his hand guns, which is in his concealed hand.
strata: Nope, Vince is definitely not a vampire (even though he kind of looks like one).
Vesper: Yeah, I believe he was in a coffin or something when he met up with the group. It's been a while since I played FFVII too.
Would anyone else like to comment? Is the anatomy looking right to you or is there anything that needs changing with that? |

The vincent I remember is always grim and covered up. In this pick he rather looks a bit enlightened, considering he is smiling a little (though I can't really tell since all of your works has that signature blank face) and he is actually showing his whole face instead of covering it with his red scarf thing up to his nose.
hmm, better get back to FF VII |

While Vincent is kind of a gothic character, he shares more stuff in common with the Beast (Beauty and the Beast) than Dracula. He is found in a crypt though, if I remember corectly... I might not; it's been ages ago since I played FFVII. |
