Today, my dad took me to work with him. He works at CBC (Canadian Brodcasting Corp.). Today, he had to work on lighting a "booth" at some exhibition or convention or something. Not sure exactly what. It was fun. The average person (who doesn't see every tiny detail) wouldn't believe how much wiring is hidden in/behind/around the props and whatever. We had a plasma TV screen. It was interesting. No one could get it to work, though.
The lighting dad had to do was fairly simple (7 lights), but it was rather high up. I didn't really trust any of the wobbly ladders. I got to be his "model." Those lights are bright, and I had to sit staring into them for about half an hour (well, no 10 minutes, tops).
Lunch was Japanese, at this really good restaraunt. Forget what it's called. Something about an ocean.
I also learned the joys of (trying to) type on a French keyboard. Everything's different. It doesn't help that the computer I was using was French...
In the end I learned quite a bit, like, if you've never used a French keyboard before, look for where some of the keys are, because things like / and " & " are in different places, and that dad really does very little at work, yet has his own room and computer.

Hey, dad offered, I had nothing better to do, and I went. I also didn't just sit around doing nothing/getting in the way. I helped.
I think I grew out of CC's at about age 5 .
I just thought someone in this immense world might be interested. |

Heh. They didn't have the right adapter for what they were trying to do. The guy with all the tools and whatnot was a new guy...
It was hardly all the "technical crew," just "a couple" guys supposedly there to put some lights up. That would by dad. I just threw him extension cords. Such a difficult task...
The cameraman was cool (they sort of had an "interactive" booth). He was a French Canadian. Forget his name, though. Something like Alan. |

I like Japanese food, my favorite dish is Salmon Donburi. Wasabi, soy sauce, vinegar, and raw salmon on top of the rice. Delicious. |
