I have a movie this time! I was going to do a little tour-guide type movie, but then I realized a movie like that would be huge in size and take forever to download. So, I just shot a 360 degree pan of one of the streets. The best part of this movie is, you get to see Tina make a funny face.

Movie--12 mb

On to the pics:

This is an old cemetary up in the mountains. It's pretty much unkept. Once a year, people will go and cut the weeds and clean up the tombstones of relatives. They would also burn incense, paper money for the dead, and offer flowers.

Tina burning paper money for her grandma.

Paper money for the dead.

Riding on the back of a 3 wheeler.

The weather getting hot, and tina trying to cool off.

Since most people get around on bikes here, you'll see people riding in formal attire like this, going to work.

We had poisonous snakes for dinner. You are looking at the tail of the snakes.

Here's the skin of the snake.

The meat of the snake.

The tendons of the snake.

The bones of the snake after I gnaw on it for a bit.

The big pot we cook the snakes in.

The disgusting parts of chickens and ducks. They are yummy.

I thought the uniform for the waitresses at this resturant was cute.

Tina didn't like me paying attention to other girls, so she tried to get my attention back.

Pirated softwares, about $5 a pop. The stacks on the table have about 5~6 games PER CD. You can find just about anything here--3D appps, latest games..etc.

The proud owner of the pirate shop.

Riding in the back of the 3 wheeler at night, in the rain.

My trying out my wide-angle lens.

Weeee! That's it for part 3.

I like the cemetary pics.

Riding a bike in a short, tight skirt. You wouldn't believe how wierd that feels. Guys don't usually have that problem...

Shizo- how about pics of disgusting people? Would you prefer that?

gLitterbug-- that waitress was nice too. You can't tell in the pic, but she served us all throughout the lunch, and that uniform clung to her curves pretty damn well.

Nilwort- actually, the tendons were quite soft, almost like fish meat.

Dr. Bang- Tina said, "Tell him to give up. He wouldn't even make it within the line of 100 guys drooling after me." She then said, "He's going to have to wait till next lifetime, except he's going to end up as a girl because he doesn't have the guts to actually go after a girl anyway."

Dude, Tina can be vicious.

Wow, you guys really love the pirate dude. I must take more pics.

Awetopsy-- Yeah, those are pics of her I took. A while ago, Tina's picture was plastered all over the city, since she was the model for a famous ad. She used to do tv commercials, films, and tv shows too. People would go up to her and say, "Hey! Aren't you that girl from that ad?"

Shizo-- hehe. I thought there would be more ghetto homies on the bus.

That dude looks like me? Man, I wish I was that fresh and represented shit.

Sedone-- Heheh. I like cleavage.

Glad to see the sijun geographic revive once again.

I like the pictures of the cemetary best.
Could you tell me a little more about that?
Chinese are usually taoist right? I read that somewhere..might be bullshit. Does this have anything to do with that?

edraket-- basically, there ARE gated and organized cemetaries, but they are more expensive. The older ancestors's graves are usually in the mountains, and once a year, family members will go visit them, burn paper money for them, burn incense and ask the mountain Gods to look after them..etc. This tradition is slowly dying out, as the younger generation doesn't really believe in that stuff. They try to bury the family members close to each other, so you could visit them at the same place, and they'd stay a family even after death.

The Chinese are a confused bunch when it comes to religion. Most are Buddhist, some are christian/catholic(not that many), and then there's tao and other stuff(minority). The Chinese version of Buddhism is so convoluted by superstition and elements of taoism, that it's like a perverted/mutated Buddhism. The average "believer" I wouldn't even consider religious. It's all superstition and ignorance. If you ask them what Buddhism is all about, they wouldn't even be able to tell you anything other than to burn incense and ask the deities to protect them. These people even pray to fictional characters from novels, and characters from legends. It's so stupid--all the stuff about deities, demons, mountain deities, good-luck deities..etc. I keep wanting to yell at them and tell them, "THAT IS NOT BUDDHISM, IT'S SUPERSTITION!"
