Created for the cover of my school's art and literature magazine, Painted Words. They wanted something on the theme of overcoming conflict, so I took it as an excuse to draw a battle maiden bathed in light. This is their first color cover, so I wanted to have the colors really jump outta the page. This is also my first coloring using the Wacom tablet. It really speed everything up. Anyway, general comments, crits are welcome. Plus, I think the large amount of neg space in the lower left area is distracting, any idea on how to fill it?
Thanks.

A background maybe? I think your picture looks too dark...maybe your monitor's gamma is set too high, or mine too low. |

Definitely agree. Needs a lighter background. More lighte from the flames. the flames would probably light up the smoke. Like the piece in general though. |
