Hah, I dont think so, a tablet doesnt automaticly make your work crisp and good looking, practice some more using the mouse to draw.. |

The tablet helps a lot. Espesially if you, like me, don't have time to sit hours in front of the computer.

Hey Sktizox - A tablet is a must, I think its a great investment. If you think it's too expensive, go check out Ebay. I picked up a second hand 12x12 tablet for $50 U.S and another small one for $0.69 because it didn't have come with a pen. What a deal! (I already have a pen from the same model.)
ps: it pays to have patients and also bid at the last moment on ebay. Good Luck! |

Drawing is not about drawing, but rather about perception. You draw what you see...having a tablet is not going to fix the fact that proportions and lighting is off. I agree with PixHortHiT, work with your mouse at first before spending money on something that you cant really utilize anyway.
Dont know what your image looked like before...but its good to see that you are trying to work with lighitng. Its not half bad...but its not really half good either. Keep up the work, you will get better with practice (not with buying a tablet) |

Well, I have to say I agree with what Robert said. I know some kickass artists who started out drawing with a mouse and did really well. So yes, proportions, lighting, perspective and all the other artistic elements would be a big factor when it comes to painting. I do think that I'll do well if I had to switch back to the mouse for my art, but I probably wouldn't. I guess its because of how natural the tablet feels comparing to painting with a mouse, but that's just personal opinion. The amount of control you get from a tablet is definitely way better and you save a lot of time.
I guess you can go to a computer store and ask them if you can test drive one for a while, or go to a friend's house.
but I would definitely not use the tablet for 3D or Windows work, or Quake... double clicking and right clicking don't work that well when you're being shot at by a grenade launcher... ![](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |
