Well, I've finally drawn something after quite a while. Actually I did a drawing about a week ago that I didn't save (thought it was just going to be a doodle) and the computer froze up (drawing on Painter). This was for the drawing class at Shane's (www.shaneglines.com), my first go. I'm not in love with the image (there are a lot of inaccuracies, intentional and not), but am so excited I've actually done something I decided I had to share.

Looks good I really like the lighting and pose, although it's a bit scratchy in some areas. I think it would look great if you spent a bit more time neatening up areas, maybe even painting it? Just my 2 cents. |

Yeah, I think it's Ms. Casta. The likeness isn't exact. I was working more on the lighting, but mainly trying to get the feeling of "softness" with very rough pencil techniques (and a couple different ones to imply different textures). I guess that's what I'd like critiqued; the feeling of the piece. I also manipulated some of the background elements to focus the eye toward her and I'm wondering if it's trapped the eye or if there's a comfortable flow. I've been looking at it too much, so I'm immune to the compostition, I think.
