Yeah, for my job, I was gonna have to illustrate an entire set of 22 trump cards for a tarot deck. Because of a number of reasons, I decided to quit the job, so I still have rights to the cards I completed.
They would have been applied to a small computer game type thing. Crits would be great...
Here's the texture I created in photoshop to base all the cards on (totally photoshop/original).

Nothing negative from me -
I really like the base texture
Also, good use of desaturated colours and simple linework - particularly i like the addition of the worn effect breaking up the linework and the setting of the typeface. (irregular and crooked)
(is this the lot? - or did ya manage more?) |

Hey, I LOVE your stuff. What I'd like to see is a version of the cards with more 'depth'. I don't mean it'd work using cards themselves, but perhaps just rendering them by hand to reveal more of the shape and structure behind the forms (I already have an idea and will perhaps go forward with it).
Anyhoo, great work - original enough to be categorized as masterpieces (something I won't achieve in the near future).
Edit: Btw. you don't mind if I do a remake of one of the cards?

Oh wow I love them. The texture is neat and my favorite card is Death.
Have you seen the Vertigo tarot deck ? Made by David McKean... different style (of course), but interesting. |

Satan: Hey, hehe, thanks. I did the linework for one more, but I didnt color it. I would have finished the project (all 22 trump cards) had I decided to keep/accept the job. But yeah, this is it. Not the sort of project I'd try and finish just for fun .
Marvel: Thanks . I'm not totally sure what you mean by more depth, so if you have time, I'd love to see a remake .
roundeye: thanks!!
Swampbug: Hehe, yeah, can't say I was thrilled about the project. After all those corny commercials...
Egerie: Thanks! Death was my fav too. hehe...
Nope, havnt seen the vertigo deck. Infact, I've only seen one deck, and its some old french one my would-have-been employer loned me. ![](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |

I like how you've kept the style consistent. I can see you've spent a lot of time with the world card, it's great. To me it looks like the fool's upper body seems a bit too big for the waist down part. And somehow I would have expected a bit more heroic Death card, he seems lazy But it's always nice to have alternate interpretations of some worn out theme.. and I do agree the death card is well done. |

Iaslauk, keeping the style consistant was really important for this project, so I'm glad you see that. Yeah, the fool's arms are way to long, and his torso is large. That was my first one, and the pencilwork was pretty shoddy; so when I went to ink, that carried over. I see where you're coming from with the death card, but I really wanted to do something different. He came out looking almost bored .
