ok, I was going to post this in the speed painting thread but then thought starting a thread of my own.
the first one was about 1,5 hours in two sessions, the first one with reference.
I'd post the reference pic but it was lost since I peered at it on an internet explorer window. (would someone be kind and post it, I think it was somewhere in the speed painting thread)
anyway, an hour and a half on the first one and about 20 mins on the second.
...thinking of finishing it sometime...
harsh, good crits and comments needed!!! |

The first one is well done however the ear looks unfinish, and I would like to see the referance pic to say whether its an accurate rendering or not.
The second one though, she has thunder thighs, and her calfs are too big . The picture also looks incomplete when compared to your other painting. |

Hee hee, but I *love* the legs on the second one. They're totally fun, especially with the slim little feet. Very cool. |

Good to see some one painting girls with a more nature figure, although #2's legs could stand to have a little more shape, might be a result of the boots thoug.
Keep up the good work. |

Your work has nice volume. You don't seem abject to letting your brush stroke appear to be a stroke, either. Ever used Painter?

thanks for the comments so far
lomi: it shouldn't even look finished 100% of the area since we're talking about quickies here. and I have to add that the first one differs quite an amount from the reference pic 'cause I lost the reference amidst the work. as for the second one, it's just a 20 minute sketch....so I guess you stated the obvious
Kaete: thx I like the legs the way they are (though perhaps a little too exaggerated girth ) heehee.
Pat: no, never really used painter, why did you ask? I think seeing brush strokes is good...but umm..that's only my personal preference. although these pics differ from my usual style a bit, usually I don't use reference pics etc. |
