That's a Poser render.

Rendered with the Line Shade option or something. Can't remember, haven't used poser in years, and never will again. And that's pretty obviously the Poser Female or whatever.

I do not understand the gratification that someone gets from hearing "Thats FUCKING GREAT!!" when they know they didnt draw it.

Do you feel good inside to take a poser model, render it...then open it in photoshop and filter it with some drawing sketch filter?

If it will make you feel better...Hey thats is great! I like your line work! Nice sketch!

Keep up the good work! (now go away!)

Poser is a program that generates generic 3d replicas of human models, they have a limited library of human dimensions to choose from... of course u get to modify and customize each character u make.. but it tends to have a poser "signature" that real 3D modelers have no problems identifying. Basically any 10 year old can create a poser model so it doesnt really qualify as a piece of art.. It really is a "push button and out comes a piece of art" kind of thing.

Therefore, Oshu really ruined any respectability for himself as an artist. Sad really. In fact.. pretty shameless.

poser is a tool by metacreations that can "generate" 3d models of creatures fairly easy, at least as far as i know.

Metacreations makes a 3D program called Poser that has a few ready made models (male, female, child etc) that you can pose any way you want. Anyone who has seen a Poser model will be able to identify it a mile away for the rest of their life.

Edit: LOL... 2 people beat me to it.

jagger, generally I would agree with what you are saying. But in this case, I'm afraid everything is pointing towards a fake here. I do agree that one should be certain before flaming a picture and accusing it of being a rip or fake. Below you will find a pic that was FULLY rendered in Poser 4. Poser 4 has a render option called "sketch style render" where it imitates a real sketch. You can play with the type of strokes and length and color of them.

I can understand why people who design their 3d models from scratch would not like poser but as an artist sometimes I will refer to it for lighting. I think poser is a fun program but I would never use it to manipulate and call it my stuff. A lot of people have given poser a bad name by turning it into some kind of sex toy...but if anyone needs a wooden model that has a billion more adjustable options with full control of lighting to be used for reference, poser could be used instead.
Use it for what its good for, its not a good 3d model builder or designer but it is a neat program.

Peace

I've been looking around in this forum for some time now for inspiration and such, but this is my first actual post. It's really sad to see what has happened to it lately. Sure I could post my crappy art but it almost feels like blasphemy. why not make this forum to a "private" one like lumental i wonder...

hmmpf

bob: it's just that the topic is "handdrawn sdaf a sf afsd ", not "poser sketch render".

does nobody thing that he just used a poser model as a reference? or are there filters n such in poser that allow you to export your image in this kind off sketching fashion?

really people, if the guy just used it as a reference, well, he fooled all of you and your negative comments. on the other hand, i dont use poser, (i tried it once, but it sucks) so i could be the one fooled here.

It's obviously a render, it's way too "perfect." (even for a skilled artist.)

Anyway, here's what he said at the top of the post:
quote:

Translation: Paint over this for me and make it look cool.

Probably so he can just take credit for that too.
