Here's something I did before Christmas. Took me four days. Please check my website for detailed descrition.
It was for a spot where cars are doing stunts in a huge concrete halfpipe in the shape of the Chevy logo. Final res was 640x480

Wow, this is really great. I love the commercial concept too. I wish we had commercials like that. Loki, I spent roughly an hour over at your website the other day. Just sitting is awe at some of your material.

Perhaps we can get a small clip of that commercial when its finished.

Peace

Dude, if you painted that crowd, then you did an really excellent job! And even if you didn't you did a really nice job of compositing.

damn loki, that's awesome... just wondering, though, was that a set extension-type deal, or was that fully painted by you? and i, too, would like to know the original resolution you worked in...

just wondering, are those foreground characters part of the matte, or are they spliced in afterwords? like do they move and such?

well, that's PHAT, with a capital PH. damn if that crowd isn't dangerously close the edge .

i'm pretty sure loki painted the crowd, they look painted. and the people in front, i'm guessing he added in later in a hurry, since you can see arena through them.

/me is also going to drown at your site...

The detail in that is incredible, Loki!

Loved your web-site, too, by the way. Your space-wreck images look wonderful! You might be interested in posting some of them in another thread?

Hey guys!

Just got back from an interview at ILM - keep yer fingers crossed!

Anyway:

* that image took four days, or better nights I should say to do.

* people are rendered - because they're moving in the final shot

* foreground people are live action (moving) and , as you guys saw, hastily comped over the image, just to give a better image of what the final thing looks like.

* yes, it's fully painted - please check my website for other details like resolution & stuff

Thanks for all da compliments - it was really a quickie thingie. And I was lucky since the director was realy real nice and excellent to work with - so was the rest of the crew.

!!!!!
good luck with your interview! What job are you applying for or just any art related job at all?
i don't know how all this applying for jobs works... i mean, i've never even had a job. lol.
if you work on the 3rd star wars wars movie i will shoot myself in the foot. not the average high schooler has talked to an artist for Star Wars!

lol... sorry for the rambling. i really hope you get that job though, that would be great. you definately deserve it. just don't get too egotistical or god (or whatever/whomever you believe in) will take it away from you.

about the pic: i love it. good job. i thought it was probably just photo manip when i saw it.

btw, how much did you get for this? i want to get into illustration, but I want to make sure I'm financially secure, know what i mean? How much did something like this or (if anyone else could answer) a book cover, mag cover, or concept artist make?
