it's supposed to be the magnetic North Pole.
Don't know if the snow-landscape looks right, but hey, it's my first wacom image and my first finished piece at all

i'd never guess its the magnetic North Pole if you didnt say.. looked more like a soap with foam around to me
you could work more on the landscape. perhaps add some snow/ frost to the box ? |

Here's my pathetic attempt:
Perhaps you could push your values a bit more. Lose some of your edges into the fray of pure white reflected by the snow and ice. Slice in some shadows, becoming less and less constrasty in values as you go farther back (atmospheric perspective). Also, cooler tones as you go farther back. Remember reflected light, etc. I think edge placement is the most important to truly give the sense of realism. Play around with which edges you want to fade into each other, and those you want to contrast with the surroundings. I have barely any experience, but bleh. My attempt/suggestions. Take it or leave it. =]

thx for the answers
I think if I wanted to do it more realistic the most important thing is to get the right perspective so i'll work on that a bit more
thanks for the color-advise(advice?), too, mjmcchesney
