That's nice! One crit, I would like to see one or two big element(s) in there, big face or something.

Btw. The guy on the lower left corner resembles Aragorn (when he sits in bree and stares at the hobbits) from LotR

wigin - Yeah it might be a little too bright in comparison with the rest..

FrustratedARTist - I think the blue guy stands out a lot against all the warm colors of the poster I think you're right.

BG - I had thought about putting the planet as the backdrop but I never got around to it. As for the guy in the lower left.. that's me ( When you coming to paintch@t!? )

Nice work Elf! I agree with guys - while poster's colors are mainly warm (red) the blue face is seems to be out of place. Also that guy in the lower left deserve more attention imho. Try to play a bit with his placement or maybe just flip it? But other things are cool - reminds me old covers from sci-fi novels.

You already know I like this one, Flex, but if you're looking for crits, I think something should be done about the black space between the sith's and the blonde girl's head. Maybe if the sith was brought down the scene a little?

Here's a silly fake movie poster for the comic strip I'm working on. Even though I've badmouthed painter in the past I'm going to be using it almost chiefly to do the comic. The watercolor tool is just too neat not to use. Anyway, hope ya like!

Some of the chunks I think you might've seen before. OH and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This is great. I like the guy on the top left, seen him b4 heh, but aynway..

The only thing i notice is the blue guy, i don't think he belongs in this. Seems too out of place, but I'm not that great at composition and what not so I would understand if ya didn't use this oh well.

Great work elf!
...But for a 'movie' poster I dont think this works very well. The composition is weak imho. Most of the figures are of the same size, too much space in between and no real focus - who is the lead character? Take a long look at Drew Strusan's (sp?) poster work and notice how much he variate the individual characters based on importance, good/evil and so on...
Your craft is solid, only thing missing is the composition... The hardpart when it comes to posters like this...

I like the designs and back all the positive feedback you have recieved up.
Boomsticks comment on you composition are very near my critism, but to specify it more clearly, I would say that the space between eack character are too even vary this and you will get a better composition.
kim
PS. I love the Spaceship design.

that huge red sword and the girl look really weird together....though I actually like the blue guy there. breaks up the monotony.

Flex: wow, I really like it..

I love that little spot right next to the guy in the lower front, the spot with the jedi facing the other guy with a longer saber.. thats really sweet.

Quasar - Yeah with any luck and time permitting I'll be putting out a strip with this. Ideally I would like to do 2 at the same time.. to do this one and my old Viking one but time is not a luxury I have much of. Oh, and I usually frequent www.drawsomething.com

Ak - Yeah it lost a bit of detail when it got shrunk down and the jpeg compression didn't help much either.

Leo - I have to agree too. And the guy in the lower left ( me ) is facing off the page.. which is a no-no. Thank ya!

Highfive - maybe if there was more red highlights on the cloak to fill the gap?

MM - That be the girl.. there's a couple of my friends and me on there too

Bg - I might just call upon your color-magic my friend.

Boomstick - I think you're right.. I kinda sacrificed a bit of layout to try to get everyone in there and also to try to keep everyone happy.. I wanted to avoid an Almost Famous thing when I showed it to my friends.. "Hey what do I know? I'm just one of the out-of-focus guys!" In the end it just came down to too much stuff.. I could definitely make a simpler one with solid composition. Thanks much!

kimzoll - Thank you much! If I redo it I'll definitely try it out. I appreciate it. The ship was actually designed by one of my friends.. alias, Mr. Owl but I will let him know!

madmouth - how so? I think the vote's still out on the blue guy I think I might try to get him more into the color scheme. But thank ya

Awetopsy - Cool thanks! That was actually an afterthought.. I wanted an impending action shot somewhere but it had to be small
