Well, finally grew a set to actually post something. Been surfing through all these pictures for many months now, but I didn't start drawing till recently. I've taken two art classes (basic drawing, intro to comp art). Just for a lil history of myself.
Currently a Sophmore at the local community college, and after seeing so many beautiful pieces of work here I wanted to get into Digital Media as well and see what I can do. Enough of me yack'n about nothing and posting the picture.
Was done in photoshop using gradients, dodge, burn, airbrush, and a good ol' fashion mouse.
Since I'm pretty knew to art any comments are welcome, be as harsh as you want anything to help make myself better is more then welcomed.
Thanks in advance,

Hmm. You should really work on those outlines.
Use the pen tool
I can't stress the importance of this enough.
Yes, it's a drag to get used to but it's far better than mouse-made lineart using a brush.
If you have adobe illustrator you can get varying-width strokes on the paths you've made with the pen tool in photoshop. There's some white space between the color and the lines. Use layers, that way you don't need to work with outlines and color on the background layer.
Another thing you could try doing is getting rid of the outline entirely. Then, however, you'll have to improve your shading/lighting enough to be able to tell the viewer what shapes he's looking at without the aid of outlines. |

hehe yeah, I shoulda probably made it clearer on what I was look'n for as far as crits go. I use the pen tool more frequently then before and find it a lot nicer and easier to use.
As far as the picture goes I was look'n more on how my coloring job was and what could use some work (going to have to reread what you said it's 4:30am might not have caught it all) I drew the picture in about 4mins just messing around to get some sorta picture to mess around with to color to see how well I could do.
The picture is many different layers, but as you said, with the outlines I get white spaces, I'll have to post a picture of one of my pen tool ones to show how I do coloring when I use the pen tool.
Thanks for the comments though I appreciate it as I am new to this whole art business =) |

I'll be blunt and say that 4 minutes worth of doodles is just not something people need to see .. especially in the Gallery/Finished Work.
Spend 4 hours on the next one and I'll bet you will be more pleased with it yourself too ... to ask for crits on 4 minute doodles is probably not quite what you need now ... |
