First, here's the address: http://www.gameart.com/ahcri/ .

I've just made this with the help of a program, and edited with Notepad, I knew was never really good at HTML anyway.. But I'm pretty happy with this look. I especially need people to test this on different browsers and operating systems, because I'm only using Windows ME and Internet Explorer. I'm open for new ideas too.
Thanks in advance.

all looks great man, like the layout.. typeface seems abit typewriterish tho, maybe something a little more bolder for the headings? But if you wanted more subtlety with it then it's cool.

I noticed your work has a very experimental feel to it, I think it would of been great if you incoporated some of that into your design too.. but still it does the job =)

edit- sorry to dredge up old posts, just noticed you were asking for feedback.

it looks good but a little too much gray. maybe one bright colour to make some contrast would be good. but it's cool

Thanks for all of your comments, but my HTML knowledge is very limited, so I don't know if I can incorporate my style of painting in my website design. But I can make the heading bolder, and maybe add some script here and there..

Ahcri,

Your site looks good as far as color, usability and composition, but there are a few things that could make it better. First of all, never ever use impact, times new roman and courier on the same page. I heard something about combining font families in my design class. Be careful. Personally, I think you should use courier or courier new for the entire site, maybe using stylesheets or something. On the portfolio page, the text should be centered vertically with every thumbnail. You can do that with the table code.. i think it's [without quotations] "<valign=center>". Also on the gallery page, everything is smooshed to the left and the page is unnecessarily long. I suggest putting a couple images on each row or organizing them closer together. That way you can also get away with putting a lot of images on one page and not see your page getting a lot longer every time you add more content. [i'm lazy and put all my art on one page on my site: .]http://www.geocities.com/blackpixelss/gallery.html]. I like hw the photo page looks, with the photos side by side.. maybe you could configure your gallery that way. The text should be centered however. On the main page, the counter, the affliates and the page tracking dealy on the bottom throw the space off quite a bit. Maybe move the row of affiliates to the bottom, where the page tracker is right now, and make the bottom right hand or top right hand square the updates box, with that red or light grey solid scanline background.

Besides that, I like the toned down colors .. they complement your work nicely. Everything loads very quickly on my 56k modem, and the navigation is awesome.

I hope I wasn't too hard.. don't hate me

Nova: I appreciate your comments. You're right about the portfolio section, I should change the layout of the pictures in it, I know I have to do it sooner or later (I was just too lazy to make a seperate page for each pictures ) As for the font, I'll change everything to courier. I'm afraid that the banner has to stay there. The reason I had to put something in each table (even the "...") is because Netscape has problem loading tables if there is nothing in it.. I'll try to arrange something tomorrow.
