awesome stuff gecko. i like the lighting on the first, and the colors just rock on the second one. some of the forms are a little hard to decifer on the robot, but thats just me being picky. both are really fabulous. how's life in the army? |

Very cool. Only comment; the composition of the second one doesn't quite feel right (the way the object is cut off).

i like your organic charactors a whole lot more than your robots. not that the robots arent great, but i think your style shows thru a lot better on your organics |

i'm a medic, it's pretty cool when it doesn't suck :P. the training is useful and i get to know a lot about everyday things about medicine, bandages, illnesses etc. so i appreciate it. 3 months to go :]
suma:
ah yeah, janne complained the same thing and I'll change it right after photoshop feels like co-operating again.. i had that mullins thread in mind where this chinese chick holding a sword was cropped funnily with her fingertips missing.. "break one rule at a time and see what happens" ... :)
geoman:
damn, i like the robot a lot more than the alien .. :) dunno, i think robots & mechanics are so much harder for me to do i appreciate them much more whenever i get one finished.. hazoc thinks the rocket 'clip' is too heavy and unbalances the whole thing, i think he's right.. fix fix fix
robert:
i just got out of senior secondary school (or whatever the hell that translates to) and took care of my army service which is mandatory in finland.. 9 months as a medic, 6 months gone.. the exact number of days, i think, is 102 to go :).
And yeah, I wish I can get a job in the field some day.. let's see if i get really lucky :Q
ah well. if only janne would show up with a pic so we could get our thread going.. prepare your wacoms people.. |

hey, no one said theres anything wrong with chalenging yourself. when i was looking at this stuff, i actually thought that you didn't paint organics as much because robots came easier to ya. hah. |

I'm one of your biggest fanboys, Geck!
Everything you make looks so 3D. The last one looks a little unfinished in my opinion, yes, no? It's a great piece anyway.

Gecko, these really rock!
I love your style so much, keep posting!
Remember when you said at Lumental that you couldn't draw mechanical things.. well you have really beaten that away with a stick...
or a piston rod, err.. ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Wow! These are great, Gecko!
The first one is just fantastic. Great lighting and overall atmosphere on it. There's just a great mood in this picture. Very very nice.
The second one is also very nice. I like his strangely shaped head. The colors and lighting in this are nice as well. Though, as Sumaleth pointed out, the orb being cut off messes with the composition.
These are both really nice and I hope to see more from you soon. I want to go paint!
By the way, the robot's going to be my new background now ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

I disagree with geoman, I've always admired your mechanical stuff most, it always looks clean & metallic to me
The lighting & linework and basically everything in the first one I really like. Nice colour scheme too.
The second one does look unfinished though, without those big deep eyes your characters usually have. |
