Actually, Sing isn't her real name, but its easier than Souksavath. I think the painting is Pretty good, but unfortunately, the likeness isnt very good.

crappy photo reference
I think i am getting better at painting hair, but i am still far from good.

well honestly I dont think you are too far off base. I can tell its supposed to be the same girl. However I think you should really concentrate on getting the shapes of the face to look right before painting them.. for instance... in the photo you have her cheekbone curving down and then a little dip, then her area around her mouth gently rounds outward again. then another little dip and the chin sort of pushes outward, but in your painting the whole cheek area is alot straighter with no dips and curves..

keep at it tho.. your doing great.

wow. fast reply.
thanks for the good observations and kind comments. I had kind of noticed the problem with the cheek but not untill i had started painting, and then it was too hard to fix it. actually, i was more concerned with the mouth. damn it took forever ro get it looking right, and i was a little scared of screwing it up...

A few things I've noticed:

In your portrait, the face is just a TAD too long. In the photo, her head is tilted VERY slightly to her right, or our left. Your portrait has her looking straight ahead. It's a VERY SLIGHT tilt, but it's there. Also, I'd add more shadows to her face. It would add much more to the likeness, IMO. Her chin seems a bit too small as well. Still, it's a pretty good likeness. Better than what I could do, anyways.

Great job on the mouth, though. It adds a lot to the likeness. I wish I could do mouths like that!
