Those of you leet and/or old enough to appreciate this stuff should get a kick out of it.. the rest of you newbies will probably just think i'm a plagarizing bastard with a really low resolution 
napalm's temporary ANSI dump!
I got around to converting a bunch of my old ANSI artwork and dumped it up on my server. I'll make a more formal page for it in a week or two but for now I thought you guys might like to check it out.
For those of you unfamiliar with the concepts of BBSs and Textmode and all that i have a VERY brief rundown here. If you're REALLY bored you can read my 11 page essay on the subject.. :P
at acheron.org which has some other cool articles and ANSI related stuff.

heh, thanks all! I have a ton more to convert, mostly co-productions that I haven't really dug around for yet, god knows I wasted enough of my youth drawing silly little 16 colored blocks!
corn: that was from #50, I haven't done ansis in a while though, but cia did make it up to #77 (creators.org) before it became too hard for me to run due to others disinterest and my own personal/professional career. Who knows, maybe i'll bring it back sometime
egerie: yeeeaaah we had a bunch of RIP guys on and off, i personally sucked at it though! here's one from one of our best RIP guys, sTC:
annnyway, thanks for checking the stuff out the rest of you, if anyone wants to convert their old ANSI/ASCII work into gif images I can send you some good tools/advice! Peace!

hi, i have a ton of ansi's from the bbs days. could somebody please tell me how to get them converted to a nice jpg format such as the one right above this post. i usually check them out in old acid view, but i'd like to get them to some other format completely. i have some sort of ans2pcx thing, but they look really bad in pcx. nothing likt hey do in actual ansi format or acid view.

ascii = text and ansi = blocks of colour using a driver called ansi.sys i believe, or something like that. i made some ages ago for my older brothers bbs asylum isle and holy shit they sucked! good thing no one saved them=)
but these, napalm, kick so much ass! |
