the top one is the most recent of the two.
the principle design idea of this series [in progress] is to create graphic design pieces using text as the driving force. i've already exhausted geometric design motifs in grap des. so i want to try something different. well it's different for me. and i'd like to keep the fonts and placement as equally interesting as i can.
i like the illustrations, but without the text my interest fades quick. any comments? anybody? *looks around*

I think these are well done and has a lot potential. I don't know what you are aiming for except maybe showing off some text capabilities which is a cool concept. One of the things that stick out to me is in the second picture the fist gen text line has a feather applied to it on the g, that is unpleasing to the eye, but thats just me.

i'd rather not use any ready-made effects on the texts, but rather manual ones. i see what you mean with the g. it's the placement of the line rather than an applied effect. the edge of the green area is blurry giving the g a feathered look. heck, i can't even remember if i did that on purpose though. |
