This is from a color contest on a comic art forum. I didn't draw or ink it, just colors. Lemme know what you think!

Wow!
Veeery nice colors!
Nice to see a different kind of metal surface besides chrome! I REALLY like the gauntlets/shoulderpads coloring. Gun is nice and so is the bodysuit (whatever you call the skin-tight suit-thing).
It needs a bit of work on the water though... the water surface ripples feel very small in the foreground... need some size variation as it goes back. The face needs some color alteration too... It looks like a latex mask; somewhat flat and "dead". Maybe some facial coloring reference will help... (I find it interesting that many people will use reference for DRAWING faces, but don't use it to get correct colorization)

Awww whoa! That is kickass! This pic has an enormous "awe factor". Great work, do you have more?
I agree with whisper. The water certainly needs a bit more attention. It is FAR to saturated, as is the sky. If you toned the sky and water down a few notches, the character would stand out more. At that point you might even be able to contrast him less aggressively as well. To me, it looks like everything in the image is made of metal. A few looser strokes across the skyline might also help to make it a little bit more comfortable to the eye.
Anyway, whatever... I think it owns; I'm very impressed! |
