this was started as a speed painting (man, i still need tons of practices)

i know it's not quite finished, but i kinda lost interest to finish it up.

and since this is just my early painting with a tablet (graphire 4x5), c&c are desperately needed to improve. thanks

oh, if you have pics about gunslingers, post them too! i'd love to see it.

here goes nothing

too slow! if this is a duel, you're probably dead by now. heheh

edit- i hope this one's working. (dang!)

well, i like yours, and i think you should take the time to finish it. i did this one for the speed painting thread, but it fits here too, so i might as well spam it

Stan, I think the positioning of your hands in this pic is fine, but I think if you want it to look correct, you should bring his right shoulder (our left) in towards the median. Put your hands in that position and pay attention to where your shoulder goes. If you do this, you can redraw his arm and it wont look so long, the other arm will fit better as well. I hope that helps.

PS Sorry but I can't see the original post so i'll critique stans instead

SporQ: thanks. naah i rather sick of looking at it for so many hours, beside it was intended for speedpainting, just using it as my adapting to tablet.
great character depicted in your pic, he looks soo tired that he'd probably be glad if someone "shoot" him to sleep heheh. oh, have i told you that i envy your exaggeration style?

BooMSticK: wow strong pic there. i like the color, and the fallin shells definetely spice the mood.
there're some anatomy issues though, but i think (i saw your more recent works) you've probably known that way more than me.

stan522: hahah the only drawing prog i have are photoshop5.0 LE and painter classic (and the first time i try to use that painter, i know i'm meant to be photoshop-er). so, respect for your daring to use it. Tarandon has good point there about the arms-thing. but honestly, i kinda like it still, i thin they are the point of interest in the pic.

maceface: whoa, that's awesome. i wish i could pencil rendering like that. love your work of details too. man, his eye's wounded and bleeding but all he can think of is how to draw his gun, true gunslinger indeed.

tarandon: the pic's not showed? hmm weird cause i can see it (wonder whether the others see it too..)
well, if you don't mind, here's the link to the picture
thanks.

coz: hei great pic. very moody. you use simple colors but could highlight the character right away. insane.
my only critic i think is his eye-focus, it's a lil'bit off from the gun's target position. but still, your pic beats me anyday of the week .

and thanks for the feedback, will change the image server (that's what you got from free-hosting...).

Heh, one of my first wacom drawings was a gunslinger:

kind of crappy looking to me now, but it was one of my favorite earlier pieces.

shamhead: great pic. love the clean yet detailed texture, and the blur effect makes it look freakin' realistic.

Twincruiser: really diggin your style. creative!. i'd assume this is for comic book?

InquisitorMaxus47: hei your pic don't show (too)!

Cos: wow. when i look at it, the first thing came to my mind is "look at the size of that ass-blower!", and then "how will he handle to chew it out and still stand in the ground?
that's when i see the giant cyborg-hand and the boots. hehe cool!
this is just my subjectivity but the sword kinda look in the way, as it's not usual for people to stick their long sword in their leg (movement issue).

MrChompers: great colors, my fav is the lighting on his face as effect from the flickering fire. absolutely great.

pilgrim 54: wow, that's awesome! you have such an expressive style. that antique gun looks terrific.

jesse-k: hei not bad. you should look at my first drawing with tablet, then we'll argue whose deserve the crappy title

will change the image server (grrr.)

sandu your pic finally works, and it looks like a photo of a young clint eastwood! heh..

I would suggest paying more attention to your backgrounds, and getting a little more variety in your colours. That last one looks too much like a colourised photo as it is. Just keep going with it, maybe do some stuff not using a reference too. Just to see what you learned from using it, and keep it in your memory.
